12 amazingly long hours to go...

Thursday, December 07, 2006
Ok, so basically I have the rest of today (Thursday) left until I can go home.
I can honestly say that this has been one of the most excruciating experiences I have ever had in my life. Every time I look at the clock to see how much time I've wasted until I ought to go to bed, it seems to have only been 10 minutes since I last checked. Unless there is something wrong with my clock...
And it's STILL only 8:30. Arghs.

Anyway, in a bid to take up some of my time until Phil gets back from work and can talk to me about being excited about tomorrow, I decided to try and find something to spruce my blog up with a little. The result: that rather nifty little slideshow to the right here.
A bit more interesting than ONE picture, eh? Now I have about TWENTY pictures!! Woo! And... they're not just of me this time...

Surprisingly, the rest of the day hasn't actually taken that long to pass. Today I had my practical POP1 (yes, another one) assessment, and I think I can say it went rather well. To elaborate, our class laughed for 8 minutes non-stop. And even though this wasn't the intention, we were trying to look pretty stupid, so it made sense. And anyway, to be honest, I don't know how you can re-enact someone being kicked in the face by a stupid person (5 times, no less) without making it slightly humorous...

Anyway, if it EVER gets past today (and at this rate, I really don't think it's going to), I will see you all tomorrow (or Saturday!)!!

Feedback for my POP1 written assignment:

Coverage: A
Analysis: A
Presentation: A

This is an excellent first attempt at writing of this kind, Lizzy. You have clearly read around your subject and are able to use referencing succinctly and efficiently to support your argument. You clearly have an excellent grasp of this material and are able to talk confidently about Boal's practice, his ideological framework and how that manifests in companies' work. You run out of time a little when it comes to your own performance piece but this is understandable when you have given such an eloquent explanation of drama as a living art form in the opening pages. Very well done.

Overall mark: 72%

THAT'S A FIRST!!!

6 days to go...

Saturday, December 02, 2006
I opened the second door on my advent calendar this morning, which means that I am coming home in precisely 6 days time! Yay for ends of semesters.
However, before I do come back, I have my practical assessment on Thursday (jumping around doing several silly walks for 8 minutes), and I still have to get the feedback from the dreaded Assignment 2. So, we'll see if I'm still feeling so festive after then...

Anyway, today we went into Leeds to do a spot of Christmas shopping, so here is a picture of us (plus Bea, a friend of Isa's) in the posh shopping arcade in the city centre:

Yay for Christmas, and see you all very soon!
